Our Memories of Sam

Created by mitchell-goring 11 years ago
We came to live in Streatley in ’77 and soon became involved with Goring Robins and Twinning activities. Sam was a prominent and active member of both of these organisations and we became very friendly. Indeed his character was such that you seemed automatically to be friends of Sam. Our relationship continued in this vein throughout the years. We were away on an extended holiday when Sam suffered his initial dreadful ordeal, but when we discovered the situation, upon our return, our friendship strengthened still further. We regularly visited each others homes for morning coffee and for a few seasons Phil was privileged to be able to accompany Sam on a number of occasions to Hampshire County Cricket matches. Even though Sam clearly suffered frustrations he remained a real gentleman and great company. We remember you fondly Sam and will miss your lovely smile. God Bless you and take care of you.
